New Mexico Rainforest University Center Fall Seminar Series

UNM Rainforest Innovations and the Innovation Academy are hosting their spring 2023 University Center Webinar series. The New Mexico Rainforest University Center provides entrepreneurial training and technical assistance at the University of New Mexico main and branch campuses. The webinars are free and open to the UNM community and the public via web access, but registration is required. A certificate program in entrepreneurial capabilities is available to UNM students and community members thru UNM’s Innovation Academy. Rick Thomson

Managing Partner, The Yar Group

Rick Thomson’s early career on Wall Street gave him a thorough understanding of research and critical financials. Moving into sales and marketing, he developed corporate account and distribution experience with medical device manufacturers and hospitals. His operational expertise came from managing the turnaround of circuit board manufacturing, contract manufacturing, and medical device companies with a tenure spanning 30+ years. He has successfully launched products, companies, and new markets in the medical device space. He’s helped take med tech companies to $1 billion in revenue, concentrating in the $10 to $200 million range.

The University Center program is funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration to provide entrepreneurial training and technical assistance to individuals or small businesses who are looking to start or grow their idea. The platform for the training will be e-commerce, designed to assist any business with its digital presence.
