Wednesday, October 28, 2020 @ 12:15 pm - 1:15 pm

Nature’s Toolbox, Inc. (NTx), an early stage biomanufacturing and bioinformatics company, is working towards influencing and securing the world vaccine supply by developing rapid on-demand production of the full spectrum of protein vaccines. From common childhood vaccines, to high-demand, emergency and experimental vaccines, NTx is capable of accelerated prototyping and manufacturing, with increased purity and greater stability while reducing both cost and production time.
Speaker: Alex Koglin, co-founder of NTx
“Our goal: allow one person, using a single workstation, to produce enough of any single protein vaccine or biologic for 100 million people in a 30-day period,” he said. The platform will allow manufacturers to produce large quantities of the flu vaccine in real-time, and specific to the predominant strain as it emerges.

Innate Immunity is focused on plant and crop health. It aims to clear some of the most devastating bacterial, viral, and fungal diseases affecting cherished crops. The firm works to increase the host’s innate immunity to clear and resist disease.
Speaker: Michelle Miller, co-founder of Innate Immunity and founder & CEO of HD3 (High Desert Discovery District). “We prevent pathogen-induced diseases with the design of host-derived antibacterial chimeras currently applied for the treatment of grape, citrus, apple, and pear – with other crops in our sights,”

VisionQuest Biomedical develops artificial intelligence (AI) software to detect eye diseases and diabetes complications. Its flagship product, EyeStar, uses AI to detect diabetic retinopathy, the most common complication of diabetes and the leading cause of blindness among the working age population. Its pipeline includes systems for detection of diabetic peripheral neuropathy, retinopathy of prematurity, cerebral malaria, and cardiovascular disease.
